3rd Day in Sydney - 26 June 2007

We always have a lot of preparation to do before leaving for another day in Sydney, mum always reminds us to lock up our luggage just incase the hotel service stuff comes in etc etc....

Mum in her toe socks. She got her socks dirty yesterday so I had to lend her my socks...it was the 1st time she's wearing such a sock....hahah! Colourful toes mum !

This is our hotel in the city, it was the Great Southern Hotel but now they changed their name to Pacific International Hotel Sydney. It a historic hotel so all the furniture in our rooms were antiques dating back to 1903..hmmm no wonder the mattress was so soft....

Today we our own free and easy day so we walked to the nearest train station, Central Train Station and bought our whole day city trip....only A$5.00. After purchasing our tickets we had to look at this super confusing board to see which trains went to St James Station where we wanted to go visit St Mary's Catherdral....Sydney's got one complicated railway systems....

We were waiting for our double decker train to arrive at the platform...
On arrival at St James Station, we had to walk through Hyde Park to get to St Mary's Catherdral and came across the Archibal fountain....
And to the left, it was a sight to remember, St Mary's Cathedral..... (for internal views of this Catherdral please visit my tabblo)
Mum and Dad waited outside while Simon and me visited St Mary's Crypt where all the past bishops and priests who played a part in the building and maintaing of this Cathedral, actually it was a gravesite for them....(for more photos please visit my tabblo)
From Hyde Park you can catch a glimpse of the Oz Tower where you can view the whole city of Sydney from up there. We then walked all the way to the Rocks to view the Sydney Opera House from the other side of the Harbour. And from this side of the rocks, you can see a clear view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, we wanted to go to the Pillon lookout on the left of the bridge but the weather wasn't favourable enough to go futher so we decided to go back to the train station before the rain came but too late, once we turn around and started walking back the rain came down upon us and we were soaked, drenched.....what a day !
